Bakery

How long are your treats good for?
To keep your pet’s treats fresh, store them refrigerated in an airtight container. For best results, please consume within 4 days of delivery.
Are your treats safe for all pets?
Yes! Our treats are carefully formulated to be safe and nutritious for most dogs and cats. However, if your pet has specific allergies or dietary restrictions, please consult your veterinarian before introducing new treats.
What ingredients do you use?
At Paws & Joy, we use only human-grade, natural ingredients. Our recipes feature premium proteins such as chicken, turkey, salmon and beef, complemented by luxurious additions like goat cheese and our signature chicken liver mousse “À la chocolate” frosting. We never include artificial preservatives, colors or flavors.
How much notice do I need to place an order?
We kindly ask for at least 2 business days’ notice for all orders. Each treat is baked to order, allowing us to ensure the highest level of freshness, presentation and care. For fully custom or large event orders, additional lead time will be needed.
Can I fully customize a cake or treats?
We love creating custom treats for your pets’ special occasions! Contact us to discuss personalized cakes, flavor preferences or dietary considerations, and we’ll craft something uniquely joyful. Please see our "Custom Orders" page.
Do you offer catering for pet parties or events?
Absolutely! Paws & Joy offers custom catering services for pet birthdays, adoption parties, barkdays, corporate events and more. Whether you're planning an intimate celebration or a full-on paw-ty, we’ll work with you to create a beautiful spread of gourmet treats, including cakes, pupcakes, donuts and themed goodies, all made with our signature human-grade ingredients and styled to match your event.

How much should I feed my dog or cat?
Our cakes and goodies are meant to be served as treats, and should not be considered a meal replacement. We recommend serving our cakes and cupcakes in bite size pieces. We use wholesome ingredients that most dogs and cats tolerate very well. 

Delivery & Local Pickup

Do you offer delivery?
Yes! We deliver in the DC area, including Maryland and Virginia. Delivery fees are a flat $25.
How is delivery handled?
We partner with a local courier to provide white glove delivery service. Delivery can be scheduled for either an afternoon window (12:00 pm to 3:00 pm) or evening window (6:00 pm to 8:00 pm), Wednesday through Sunday.
Can I pick up my order locally?
Yes! We offer local pickup by appointment during our regular business hours (Wednesday through Sunday, 11:30 am to 8:00 pm). If you'd prefer to collect your order in person, simply select the “Pickup” option at checkout. Once your order is confirmed, we'll contact you to schedule a convenient pickup time.
Pickup is available by appointment only to ensure your treats are packed fresh and ready when you arrive. Please note that all orders still require 2 business days' notice, as everything is made to order.

Return or Exchange Policy

What is your return or exchange policy?
Because all of our treats are perishable and made to order, we’re unable to accept returns or exchanges. However, your satisfaction, and your pet’s happiness, means everything to us.
If there’s ever an issue with your order, please reach out within 24 hours of receiving it and we will do everything we can to make it right. Whether it's a packaging concern, delivery mishap or a rare oversight, we promise to do everything we can to make it right. Your satisfaction (and your pet’s wag or purr) means the world to us.
